UAE weather forecast: Snow and 5 days of rain

DUBAI – The UAE’s unstable weather will continue until next week, with the national weather bureau forecasting more chances of rain until Wednesday and possible snow in the mountains.

Rain of various intensities fell on Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates overnight, after scattered rainfall hit the country on Thursday and Friday.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that the significant drop in temperatures will bring the “probability of some freezing rain or snow over the mountain peaks”.

On Saturday (January 11), the weather bureau said the unstable weather conditions are the “result of the presence of an upper air trough from the west, accompanied by a cold air mass”.

The NCM said that there will be rainfall over scattered areas of the country, especially in the northern, eastern and coastal areas.

Meanwhile in Al Ain, two people were rescued on Saturday after they were trapped in floodwaters in the middle of a wadi in the emirate. Click here to watch the dramatic rescue.
