A Filipina in the UAE became the first winner of the Mahzooz Golden Ramadan Raffle, taking home ten gold coins, organisers announced on Wednesday (March 29).
Mary Grace won gold with ticket number 32359322. She was contacted by Mahzooz on Sunday (March 26), a day after the draw, to inform her of her win.
The 32-year-old Filipina said she will keep the gold to allow its value to appreciate even more. She intends to use her prize “wisely”.
The HR professional has lived in the UAE with her family in the last ten years. She started participating in Mahzooz every week in the last two years since the game was introduced to her by her parenets.
Mary Grace is considered by her family to be their lucky charm, as she is the one who regularly participates in Mahzooz.
“My parents are retired and content with the simple pleasures of life, such as gardening and looking after my sister’s children. It’s my parents who continuously remind me to purchase my lines every weekend hoping that I will eventually win- and I did,” she says.
Meanwhile, a Bangladeshi also won Dh1 million during Saturday’s draw. As part of Mahzooz’s new prize structure, a guaranteed cash prize of Dh1 million will go to a winner each week, apart from the jackpot prize of Dh20 million.
