Ajman: Boy dies after being hit by car

A two-year-old boy from Jordan died from his injuries on Wednesday (March 29) after he was hit by a car in Ajman, his family announced.

The victim was identified as Rakan. His mother, Diana Mohamed, said that Rakan was hit by a car on Sunday evening (March 26) in the Al Nuaimiah area.

Rakan had walked out of the house to follow his father when the boy was hit by a passing vehicle. “He managed to slip out of the house unnoticed when his father left to pick up some items from his car,” Diana said.

Rakan’s mother said that the boy sustained serious head injuries and was in critical condition in the hospital for three days before succumbing to his injuries on Wednesday.

Following her post asking for prayers for her son, hundreds of messages of condolences have poured on social media for the family. Rakan is survived by his parents and two older sisters. ICA/Expat Media
