DUBAI – His dream, quite literally, is now a reality. A 28-year-old Jordanian man living in Sharjah is now $1 million richer after winning the jackpot in the Dubai Duty Free draw on Wednesday (September 23).
“I had a dream yesterday that I will win but it still feels surreal that it’s now a reality,” said Z. Salman. He bought the winning ticket online on September 3.
“A lot of people have been saying why I spent too much on this promotion, but my mother always told me not to stop and that I will win one day, and this is it!” said the Sharjah resident of 24 years. Salman said he regularly buys tickets to the Dubai Duty Free draw.
Salman, an administration director for a car showroom in Sharjah, said he will be using the money to pay off some debts.
“This will help us to pay off loans and credit card bills that piled up when our family business went through bankruptcy,” said the expat from Amman, Jordan.
