UAE: Man jailed, deported after threatening to kill business partner

The Ajman Criminal Court gave an Asian man a three-month prison term and deportation after he threatened to kill his business partner.

According to court files, the 42-year-old went to the shop he owned with his countryman during Ramadan with a knife.

The accused held the blade to the victim’s throat, saying he would murder him if he did not receive money from the shop’s profits in three days.

The accused ordered the victim not to leave the store and took him to his house. He brandished the knife again when they arrived and threatened to kill the victim.

A witness at the house who overheard the accused uttering the threats gave a statement to the Public Prosecution.

The accused will be deported once he serves his sentence. BKM/ Expat Media
