Need to go out during curfew? Get permit in Dubai

DUBAI – Dubai residents who need to leave their home during the ongoing disinfection campaign of roads and public areas may request for permission online.

The UAE began the National Disinfection Programme on Thursday, restricting public movement and traffic movement while teams disinfect public utilities and public transport.

Residents who need to go out during the disinfection period to visit the hospital, buy food or medicine, or do essential work will need to request for permission through dxbpermit.gov.ae.

5 step process

1. Go to dxbpermit.gov.ae
2. Register your details and phone number
3. Enter your Emirates ID, car registration, purpose of trip, destination and time of trip
4. Receive an OTP code via SMS
5. Receive an SMS confirming registration

People working in the following sectors are allowed to leave their home during the period without applying for permit: army, airport and immigration, banking, construction, communications, energy, medical, petrol stations, police, pharmaceutical, electricity and water, medical, mass media and restaurants. If required by an inspector, they will need to present their Emirates ID and letter from their employer explaining the nature of their work.

According to the Dubai Police, violators of the UAE’s directives will be subject to legal action and fines. ICA/Expat Media
