Ras Al Khaimah arrests truck driver in deadly hit-and-run accident

A truck driver has been arrested in Ras Al Khaimah after he ran over a motorist on the roadside, according to Ras Al Khaimah Police.

The Arab victim, who was also driving a truck, had stopped his vehicle by the roadside and was standing next to it when he was hit by an oncoming truck.

Police said the incident happened on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed highway on March 18. The Arab victim died on the spot.

Police said the driver of the oncoming truck was not paying attention to the road and had run over the Arab victim. He also fled the scene of the accident. He was soon arrested after police tracked his vehicle. ICA/Expat Media
