Award for best Filipino household workers in UAE

The best Filipino household workers in the UAE will be recognized in the Gawad Kasambahay 2023 awards.

Since its launch in 2019, the Gawad Kasambahay “aims to honor inspiring Filipino household workers in the UAE” and award them for their loyalty and dedication.

Organised by Michelle Quinto Guinto of CMG Cargo, the awards return this year after a lull following the pandemic.

There will be 12 awards up for grabs, including the Loyalty Award and the Household Manager of the Year for the best household service worker who has been working for a minimum of 10 years.

Nominees via the Gawad Kasambahay website will be shortlisted by a distinguished panel of judges, including Expat Media’s CEO Mars Yabut De Los Santos.

A panel interview will be held on April 1 for shortlisted nominees, to be followed by a final panel interview on April 15 to determine the winners.

Gawad Kasambahay 2019 awardee Marissa Postre, a 65-year-old nanny in Dubai, told Expatmedia.net that the awards are a great way to recognize the contributions of household workers in the UAE.

“Sometimes we may feel it is a thankless job, but it really feels great to be appreciated for the work we do to help families. I wish all the best for this year’s nominees and winners,” Postre told Expatmedia.net in Filipino. ICA/Expat Media
