Dubai residents affected by the recent rain and floods will be given free services to help them recover, the Dubai Crown Prince has ordered.

The directive from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, came after the UAE recorded the highest rainfall level in 75 years last April 16.

Sheikh Hamdan ordered all real estate developers and residential management companies to offer free support to those affected by the adverse weather conditions.

The free services include alternative housing for affected residents, interior cleaning services, home repair, distribution of food in affected communities, pest control services and enhance security, among others.

Sheikh Hamdan also ordered the establishment of a committee to review requests of Emiratis and address them on priority basis. Sheikh Hamdan said he will personally monitor the progress of response measures, and emphasized that on-ground teams will provide effective support to all citizens and residents.

Following the directive, property developers Emaar Properties, Nakheel, Dubai Holding, Dubai Investment Park, Union Properties, Damac Properties and MAG have offered free maintenance services to damaged properties, pest control services, home interior cleaning as well as alternative housing for residents whose homes were completely damaged by the floods.

Sheikh Hamdan also directed the Dubai Land Department and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency to coordinate with property developers to quickly restore normalcy in all communities managed by the developers.

Meanwhile, under Sheikh Hamdan’s directives, the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment has established a committee to prioritize requests from affected citizens. Affected citizens can send requests for support to the Committee for the Care of Affected People in Dubai via the WhatsApp number 0583009000. ICA/Expat Media
