Dubai waiter arrested over fake gunshots in TikTok video

 

DUBAI – A Bangladeshi waiter in Dubai has been arrested for adding the sound of gunshots and people screaming in his TikTok video that went viral.

The offensive video was taken at a parking lot in Dubai.

The video was posted in January and quickly went viral. Police were able to track the Bangladeshi waiter and arrest him. His TikTok account was also blocked.

At the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday (April 11), the Bangladeshi was charged with publishing a video that affects the UAE’s public order.

Under the UAE anti-cybercrime law, it is prohibited to publish photos or videos that pose a threat to national security. ICA/Expat Media
