UAE-based Filipino content creator Mico Banua has been recognised for his contribution to community building after receiving the Excellence in Community Engagement Award at the Emirates Film Festival.

Banua received the award during the festival held on July 26 at the Covent Theater in Mall of the Emirates. The recognition honours individuals whose influence extends beyond their profession by using their platforms to create positive social impact, strengthen communities and encourage meaningful public engagement.

Over the years, Banua has built a strong online following by producing content that highlights volunteerism, cultural diversity, community initiatives and stories that bring together people from different backgrounds across the UAE.
