DUBAI – Get your umbrellas ready because Dubai is hoping to make a splash with a new tourism concept: a Raining Street where it will rain all year round!
Developer Kleindienst Group revealed that it is developing the Raining Street at its Heart of Europe project on The World islands off the coast of Dubai.
The Raining Street will span 1 kilometre on Main Europe island next to the Portofino family hotel, with temperatures at a cool 27°C for visitors to enjoy.
The intensity of the rain can range from a downpour to a drizzle, depending on the weather.
“The technology ensures that as soon as the temperature goes above 27 degrees Celsius on the island, cold water in the form of rain will fall from top of the buildings through concealed pipes,” said Josef Kleindienst, chairman of Kleindienst Group.
Development is still underway on the Heart of Europe, which consists of seven islands that will be home to 15 hotels and resorts and 4,000 holiday homes. ICA/Expat Media
