Coronavirus in UAE: 1,002 new cases, 942 recoveries on September 24


DUBAI – The UAE recorded 1,002 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday (September 24) after it conducted 93,918 more Covid-19 tests.

This is the second day in a row that the UAE’s daily number of Covid-19 cases breached 1,000. On Wednesday, the country hit an all-time high of 1,083 new cases in 24 hours.

The country also reported that 942 more people have recovered from coronavirus in 24 hours. One more person died of Covid-19 in the UAE, raising the death toll to 407.

The UAE now has a total of 88,532 cases of coronavirus since the outbreak was recorded in January.

The news comes as Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed, member of the Executive Council and chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office, was given the Covid-19 vaccination while visiting Sheikh Khalifa Medical City on Thursday. ICA/Expat Media
