Al Bandar Rotana, a five-star hotel with a prime waterfront outlook, is a key attraction for tourists as the property is located on the Dubai Creek.
“The unique selling point of Al Bandar Rotana is linked to Dubai Creek, which is not only the City of Wonders’ first major port, but is also full of historical importance,” said Ayman Ashor, Cluster General Manager of Al Bandar Rotana and Arjaan by Rotana. Al Bandar means “the port”.
The Dubai Creek holds a distinctive historical, cultural, shipping and trading significance for Dubai
“Dubai Creek has served as a safe harbour to trade along with other ports of Arabian Gulf,” Ashor said. “The creek split through the ground in the 1950s to form a small canal. The Greeks used to refer to the Dubai Creek as River Zara,” he added.
He noted that the Dubai Creek divides two major districts in the city, namely Deira and Bur Dubai which are the heart of Dubai’s heritage.
“Dubai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world in terms of population, it has a world class infrastructure, booming tourism, strong and transparent regulations and no other city in the world offers so much variety,” Ashor said.
“The country presents a favourable business environment for investors and excellent infrastructural facilities coupled with professional expertise and personalised services give the UAE an edge over other countries,” he added.
Ashor sees a healthy and promising outlook for the hospitality in 2023. “We are very proud of our hotel performance of the last year and we are positive that we can keep the momentum till the end of the year,” he said. ICA/Expat Media
