More than 400 motorists were given warnings and 17 cars towed for illegal parking under Dubai Metro bridges, according to Dubai Police.
The vehicle owners were given a one-hour deadline to move their vehicles or risk getting them towed for parking violations, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
“More than 400 motorists were contacted and 17 vehicles whose owners failed to remove them within an hour of their notification were towed away,” said Osama Al Safi, Director of Parking at RTA.
According to RTA, regular inspections are carried out along Dubai railways to prevent casual parking of vehicles under Dubai Metro bridges. The areas have warnings against illegal parking.
Vehicles that are towed for illegal parking will be impounded by Dubai Police. Motorists will have to pay a fine and towing charges to claim their vehicle. ICA/Expat Media
