Top performing employees of World Star Holding get surprise gifts from their employer.
What looked like a simple workplace prank turned into a surprise worth thousands of dirhams for 12 employees at a UAE-based company.
A viral video from World Star Holding shows employees choosing wrapped gift boxes, with some finding brand-new iPhone 18s while others discovered large chocolate bars.
The employees who received chocolate did not appear disappointed. Instead, they accepted their gifts and celebrated with their colleagues.
Then came the real surprise. Managing director Haseena Nishad walked in carrying iPhone bags and handed a new phone to each employee who had received chocolate.
Speaking to media later, she said she was particularly touched by the employees’ reactions even before they knew there was another gift waiting, saying that none of the employees who got the chocolate were disappointed.
Haseena runs World Star Holding with her husband, Nishad Hussain, who serves as chairman of the manpower supply company. The couple started the business in 2008 with just the two of them before growing the company and its workforce.
For the couple, the latest surprise is part of a longer effort to recognise their employees. Haseena described their staff as their “strength” and the reason for their company’s growth.
The couple also gave iPhones to top-performing employees last year. In 2024, 16 employees were treated to five-star hotel stays, chauffeur-driven supercars and yacht parties for International Labour Day, while employees were treated to a private movie screening in 2023.
