UAE unveils Dh1-billion project directed to boost, develop Emirati villages

UAE launches Dh1-billion Emirates Villages project, aiming to develop Emirati villages economically.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the launch of the project on Twitter on Wednesday.

The Emirates Council for Balanced Development aims to create a micro-economy in 10 villages, involve local communities and the business sector more, and advance the sustainable development model by boosting federal-local cooperation.

The project promotes societal stability and well-being by offering economic and commercial opportunities.

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, will lead the project.

The project was launched at the Government Annual Meetings, where all federal and municipal government bodies met in Abu Dhabi to debate the country’s national development strategy. BKM/ Expat Media
