UAE: Registration rises for scheme giving cash to UAE workers earning less than Dh30,000

The UAE’s General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has reported a rise in the number of Emirati employees registering for a scheme giving cash to those earning less than Dh30,000.

The NAFIS scheme is part of a federal programme to encourage UAE nationals to work in the private sector. Under NAFIS, Emiratis working in the private sector are eligible for Salary Support Scheme if they earn less than Dh30,000 per month.

Degree holders can get a monthly allowance of Dh7,000 while diploma holders can get Dh6,000. High school graduates can get salary support of Dh5,000.

Emirati employees with children can get an additional Dh600 for each child, up to four children for five years. Their monthly salary must not exceed Dh50,000. ICA/Expat Media
