UAE rain: Parks, public beaches to remain closed

Public parks and beaches in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah will remain closed until weather conditions improve, authorities announced.

On Tuesday (April 16), parks and beaches in rain-hit Abu Dhabi were closed as authorities anticipated weather conditions to worsen. In Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, the closure of parks and beaches began on Monday (April 15).

The National Centre of Meteorology forecast heavy rain and unsettled weather to continue until Wednesday (April 17).

Rain with lightning and thunder was reported overnight in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates. In parts of Al Ain, hail bringing huge hailstones was reported. ICA/Expat Media
