New digital system to process selling impounded vehicles

A new digital project has been launched by the Ras Al Khaimah Police, aiming to digitize the sale of impounded vehicles. The new digital system shortens the process of selling to only 45 days.

The new digital system would start with sorting, auditing, appraisal, judicial approval, and announcement, from transferring the sold vehicles to the buyers’ names.

According to Maj-Gen Ali Alwan, Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, the project supports its digital transformation strategy to bolster police work. It will be rolled out in cooperation with strategic partners.

Meanwhile, Lt-Col Dr Muhammad Abdullah Al-Bahar, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, explained that the previous process of selling impounded vehicles took no less than three months.

With the digital system, he added that it would now take only 45 days to process.

The new project will reduce the process channels from seven to only one, thus also reducing paperwork. Hence, the sorting, analysis, and direct electronic auditing will be completed without human intervention. RZSP/Expat Media
