50% fines waived on land transport license violations

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) said that the UAE Cabinet has decided to waive 50 percent of the fines for violating operating card renewal and cancellation. This is according to the Federal Law on land transport.

The partial waiver covers fines assessed against land transport companies with MoEI licenses from the effective date of the federal law and associated executive rules and November 11, 2022.

“The partial waiver will reduce the financial pressure on these companies and help the transport sector grow and enhance its competitiveness,” said Hassan Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at MoEI.

According to Sheikh Nasser Al Qasimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Regulation Sector at MoEI, the partial waiver promotes land transportation businesses to adhere to the legislation and increases investor interest in the industry.

Additionally, he advised land transport companies to take advantage of the partial waiver, which went into force at the beginning of 2023. KD/Expat Media
