The UAE has begun issuing five-year residency visas to children of Emirati mothers.
The move follows the enactment of the new foreign entry and residence law, which went into force on September 5, 2022.
The five-year residency for children of Emirati mothers is a significant improvement over the three-year residency implemented by the government.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued Cabinet Decision No. 65 for 2022 in July this year for the executive rules of federal decree-law No. 29 for 2021 concerning foreigners’ entry and residency.
The UAE implemented several visa and entry reforms to attract high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and highly qualified professionals. BKM/ Expat Media
