UAE announces Eid Al Fitr holiday for employees


DUBAI – Private sector workers in the UAE will enjoy Eid Al Fitr holiday starting from Ramadan 29, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced on Tuesday (May 4).

The public holiday will continue until Shawwal 3, which is expected to fall on Saturday (May 15). This has yet to be confirmed by the moon sighting committee.

Ramadan 29 is expected to fall on Tuesday (May 11). This means UAE employees will enjoy a five-day break until Saturday (May 15).

For public sector workers or government employees, the Eid Al Fitr holiday will also run from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3, according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.  ICA/Expat Media
