Iconic actress Jaclyn Jose dies

Multi-award winning actress Jaclyn Jose died on Saturday (March 2).

Authorities said her body was found at her home on Sunday (March 3). Jose is survived by her children, Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond Ilagan Guck.

Born Mary Jane Guck on October 21, 1964, Jose enjoyed an illustrious acting career that spanned several decades since 1984.

In 2016, Jose became the first Filipino to win the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for her role in “Ma’ Rosa,” directed by Brillante Mendoza.

In recognition of her lasting impact on the film industry, she was honored with the Movie Icon Award by The Eddys in 2023. ICA/Expat Media
