UAE announces 50% discount on unpaid fines for breaking Covid-19 rules

The UAE’s Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Prosecution announced on Tuesday (March 14) a 50 percent discount on fines imposed for breaking Covid-19 rules.

The discount is effective as of March 15 and will run for two months.

The authority urged the public to take advantage of the discount and pay their fines through the website or app of the Ministry of Interior and police commands.

At the height of the pandemic, the UAE placed strict rules to curb the spread of Covid-19. This included a fine of Dh3,000 for those not wearing facemasks and up to Dh50,000 fines for breaking home quarantine rules. ICA/Expat Media
