All UAE airports to accept pre-flight Covid-19 test from any clinic abroad

DUBAI – UAE authorities on Wednesday (August 5) announced that passengers required to undergo pre-flight testing for Covid-19 can do so at any clinic overseas.

The UAE previously only allowed Covid-19 tests taken at accredited testing centres abroad.

Before boarding, all arriving passengers must present a negative Covid-19 test taken not more than 96 hours from their flight. Children under the age of 12 are exempted from PCR testing.

According to the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), the new rule on pre-flight testing should ease the burden on travelers coming from places away from accredited test laboratories.

Some passengers have complained of travelling large distances to reach an accredited test center. ICA/Expat Media
