Two men have been arrested after an attempted robbery during a night-time raid at a grocery store in Ras Al Khaimah.
During one incident just after midnight on September 10, police reported that the suspects, who were from Africa, carried butcher knives and wore face masks while demanding cash from the victims.
A 77-second video has been circulating online showing the suspects threatening the cashier before robbing the store.
The surveillance footage revealed that the cashier escaped the situation without injuries.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police Department stated that it had received a call informing them of robberies at multiple establishments within the emirate.
According to a statement released by the police department, “Officers arrested two African men who committed robberies at different shops.”
“Both suspects were arrested within a couple of hours [of the call coming in].”
The individuals in question have been handed over to the office of the public prosecutor while the inquiry continues. BKM/ Expat Media
