Ramadan moon-sighting committee convenes

The UAE moon-sighting committee will gather at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department after the Maghreb prayer to determine when the holy month of Ramadan will begin on Tuesday (March 21).

The meeting (29th Sha’ban) will be presided over by Justice Minister Abdullah Sultan Bin Awad Al Nuaimi and attended by many senior officials.

Although the Lunar Calendar Committee at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department continues to gather evidence and report its conclusions to the moon-sighting Committee, Shariah courts across the country will monitor and alert the committee of any sightings. KD/Expat Media
