DUBAI – Covering Expo 2020 since it opened on October 1 has been a constant discovery for me, with 192 unique country pavilions to visit.
So far, I have only extensively covered 50 pavilions. My goal is to cover all pavilions through photography and videography by December 2021 before moving on to cover Expo events.
In my 20 years of photography experience, nothing is as surreal as taking snapshots of the pavilions in their natural beauty in the morning, as well as in their shining, lit up glory at night.
Personally, my coverage of Expo 2020 has helped me learn about global culture, economy, infrastructure and industry.
Even though I am not traveling, I have an insight into each county, particularly little-known countries like Eswatini and Lesotho in Southern Africa.
I love the design of each pavilion, especially at night when they are all lit up. My favourite pavilion is the Mobility Pavilion because it is full of surprises and interesting stories of the past and present. It is full of amazing things, from the dramatic entrance up to the last exit door.
Without further adieu, take a look at some of the stunning Expo 2020 pavilions from A to Z:
