State of emergency declared in Sudan due to rain, floods in six states

Sudan’s Council of Ministers declared a state emergency after the flood affected six states: River Nile, Gezira, White Nile, West Kordofan, South Darfur, and Kassala.

Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reports that the Council emphasized the significance of mobilizing widespread efforts to attract internal and external humanitarian support from official and popular bodies to assist those affected by the situation.

Osman Hussein Osman, acting minister of cabinet affairs, confirmed opening an account in local and international currencies to garner support and show solidarity with citizens in the states devastated by torrential rains and floods. BKM/ Expat Media
