Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid tours Atlantis The Royal

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, toured Atlantis The Royal, a new iconic landmark on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah Island.

During the tour on Saturday (January 21), Sheikh Mohammed said the public-private sector partnerships are at the heart of Dubai’s development vision and a key driver of vital sectors like tourism.

The Dubai ruler said the private sector continues to be a key partner in Dubai’s development journey.

“We have ambitious growth targets for the sector over the next ten years. The UAE and Dubai seek to build on their deep partnerships with the private sector to strengthen the country’s status as the world’s most popular destination for international tourists,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

Atlantis The Royal is the latest ultra-luxury resort to open in Dubai. The cantilevered resort surges 43 storeys high and spans 406,000 square metres.

The resort is located on the outer crescent of Palm Jumeirah, a location that allows the building to have two different types of waterfront views – the Arabian Gulf on one side and the sheltered lagoon of the Palm Jumeirah Island and the Dubai skyline on the other.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the resort’s remarkable concept crafted by the world’s leading designers, architects and artists, as well as its interior design inspired by Bedouin culture.

The resort has 231 luxury apartments, 693 hotel rooms, and 102 suites, all with views of the Arabian Sea and Palm Island. Sybille de Margerie, a French interior design expert, reportedly commissioned a slew of talented contemporary artists to personalize each residence.

Atlantis The Royal also has plenty of water features, including 90 swimming pools and a rooftop infinity pool suspended 90 meters above ground level on the 22nd floor.

Its Atlantis Restaurants features global celebrity chefs such as Gastón Acurio, Costas Spiliadis, Ariana Bundy, Heston Blumenthal, and José Andrés. ICA/Expat Media
