Sheikh Mohammed okays UAE strategy for talented expats

ABU DHABI – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the UAE Strategy for Talent Attraction and Retention.

The strategy aims to strengthen the UAE’s position as a preferred destination for living, working and investing. It comes after a string of measures, including new long-term visas, that the UAE has adopted to retain talented and skilled expatriates in the country.

Following a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (April 14), Sheikh Mohammed said that the new strategy aims to put the UAE among the top three countries in attracting talented and highly skilled employees.

Talented expatriates have always been a crucial part of the UAE’s achievements. Sheikh Mohammed stressed that attracting more talents and creative minds is a key factor of the UAE’s preparation for the future.

The UAE strategy for talent attraction and retention has three main targets: positioning the UAE among the top ten countries in the global talent competitiveness indices, ensuring talents availability across all strategic sectors and cementing the UAE image as an ideal destination for living and working.

The UAE strategy is an integrated national initiative that aims to enhance the country’s attractiveness to foreign investments and talents.

It serves as a comprehensive framework that allows the country to develop policies to attract talents from all over the world. ICA/Expat Media
