Sharjah: Indian drowns while swimming off Al Mamzar beach

An Indian man drowned while swimming off the Al Mamzar beach in Sharjah, according to Sharjah Police.

The incident happened on Sunday (June 2) at around 10:30pm. Police did not reveal further details about the victim but said he was 25 years old.

According to police, the Indian man was swimming with his friends when he drowned. The body has been recovered and has been taken to the hospital morgue.

The Buhairah Police Station is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning incident.

Meanwhile, police urged the public to follow safety instructions while swimming and to report drowning incidents immediately to enable rescue teams to reach victims quickly.

Al Mamzar Beach is located in the Al Mamzar area, between Al Khan Lagoon in the north and Al Hamriya Port in the south. The beach is located between Dubai and Sharjah, and both sides of the beach have the same name. ICA/Expat Media
