Heavy rain fell on Dubai on Wednesday (January 25) as unsettled weather continued in the UAE.
On Wednesday afternoon, heavy showers fell on Dubai and the Northern Emirates, continuing until the evening. Rain was also reported in parts of Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.
In Dubai, traffic was slow on roads and major highways, while some streets were reported waterlogged after a downpour in Al Aweer, Ras Al Khor and other areas. Global Village was closed and the concert of Egyptian singer Mahmoud El Esseily was cancelled. “While we share their disappointment, the comfort and wellbeing of our guests is our key priority,” according to Global Village in a statement sent to Expatmedia.net.

In Ras Al Khaimah, authorities announced that students in government schools will switch to remote learning from home until Monday due to the unstable weather.
The National Centre of Meteorology has forecast rain until Friday, with conditions expected to clear by Saturday. ICA/Expat Media
