Camping now banned on public beaches in RAK

The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department issued a ban on camping on public beaches within the emirate on Tuesday (May 17).

The decision was made after the department received complaints from residents and beachgoers.

People were found to have been setting up the tents outside the allocated camping sites and getting too close to coastal areas that were not permitted by the department.

The said actions had resulted in the distortion of the general appearance of the emirate, invasion of public properties, and disruption of beachgoers enjoying the public places.

The Municipal Department encouraged the public to avoid violations and preserve the appearance of the emirate.

The authority also emphasized that the beaches and tourist places are meant for all societal members and should not be abused by any means.

A Ras Al Khaimah Municipal Department top official emphasized that no decision or permit would be given for camping on open beaches and encouraged the public to contact the municipality with the number 800661 for related complaints and inquiries. KSO/Expat Media
