Philippines: South African caught with PHP144.3 million worth of ‘shabu’ at NAIA

A South African national carrying 21.215 kg. of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP144.3 million, was arrested by agents of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City on Friday.

The BOC stated that the illegal shipment was found after the passenger was subjected to K9 sweeping and X-ray scanning.

The arresting team has been keeping a close eye on the courier’s travels, who was eventually revealed to be from South Africa and who has also been to Qatar.

He will face charges for violating Republic Acts Nos. 10863 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. BKM/ Expat Media
