Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination in Dubai: How to get it

 

DUBAI – Dubai has begun a free vaccination using a Covd-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech. Here’s all you need to know.

Who can get the vaccine?

Dubai visa holders will be able to get the vaccine, and will initially be available to frontliners, senior citizens aged 60 or older, and people with chronic disease or special needs.

Who are not eligible to get the vaccine?

People younger than 18 will not be given the vaccine.

Can other members of the public get it?

The Dubai Health Authority is expected to announce the next phase of vaccination soon, opening it to other members of the public.

How much does it cost?

Currently, it is being administered free of cost.

Where can I get the vaccine?

It is available at six health centres: Al Mizhar Primary Health Care Centre, Barsha Primary Health Care Centre, Nad Al Hamr Primary Health Care Centre, Hatta Hospital, Uptown Mirdif Medical Fitness Centre and Zabeel Primary Health Care Centre

What number can I call to book an appointment?

You can call the Dubai Health Authority hotline at 800 342.

What kind of screening questions will I be asked?

Among other questions, you will be asked about your age, existing health conditions and whether you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention said the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is 95 percent effective against coronavirus.

If I don’t have a Dubai visa, can I still get the vaccine?
