Dubai Mall has announced that starting on July 1 it will roll out paid parking in its parking areas, but shoppers will still have room to grab some free parking.

According to mall management, visitors can park for free for the first four hours but paid parking will be enforced in its Grand Parking, Cinema Parking and Fashion Parking areas, with fees of between Dh20 up to Dh1,000 for more than four hours of parking.

Visitors looking for unlimited free parking within mall hours can head to the parking areas in Dubai Mall Zabeel and Dubai Mall’s Fountain Views parking areas, which will remain free for visitors.

Parking fees will be waived for people with special needs, public service providers, including police, ambulance, emergency response vehicles, Civil Defense, and valet drop-offs.

This is the first time that Dubai Mall will be enforcing a paid parking scheme. Salik Company will be managing paid parking at Dubai Mall with a ticketless parking system similar to the Salik toll gates. Vehicles entering and leaving the paid parking areas will have their plate numbers captured by a smart camera that will also note the time of arrival and departure to calculate the parking hours. Fees will be deducted from the vehicle owner’s Salik account.
