Pakistani expat in Abu Dhabi wins Dh15 million in Big Ticket

DUBAI – A Pakistani man in Abu Dhabi is now Dh15 million richer after winning the jackpot in the Big Ticket draw on Wednesday (November 3).

Shahid Mahmood was watching the live draw online when his ticket number and name were announced. He couldn’t believe his luck and immediately called his family in Pakistan.

Mahmood bought ticket number 071808 on October 31 with the help of one of his friends in Pakistan. The 35-year-old has been buying Big Ticket every month in the last five years.

“Keep trying, don’t give up!” was his advice to those hoping to win it big in the UAE’s oldest and longest-running raffle draw.

Mahmood works for a glass installation company in Abu Dhabi. His wife and their son and three daughters are living in Pakistan.
