Major General Khalifa Bin Dhaen Al Muhairi, was one of Dubai Police’s pioneering officers.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, paid tribute to Major General Khalifa Bin Dhaen Al Muhairi following his death, remembering him as a loyal son of the nation who dedicated his life to serving Dubai Police, the Al Maktoum family and the country’s citizens.
“May God have mercy on Major General Khalifa bin Dha’en Al Muhairi, and grant him wide expanses in His gardens,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote in a post on X on Thursday (October 22).
“One of the loyal men of the homeland, and one of the dedicated leaders of Dubai Police, and one of the most faithful who devoted his career to the Al Maktoum family and the citizens over five decades of continuous service,” he said.
Al Muhairi, one of Dubai Police’s pioneering officers, joined the force in 1956, at just 15 years old, becoming one of the force’s earliest recruits in the year it was established. Assigned police number 8, he went on to serve for five decades, witnessing the transformation of Dubai Police from its early beginnings into a modern law enforcement institution.
He served at several police posts and stations, including Zabeel Police Post and Nad Al Sheba Police Station, which he later headed. During his career, he served under Dubai Police’s first three foreign commanders before continuing under Emirati leadership. He remained with the force until his retirement.
Dubai Police described Al Muhairi as one of the officers who helped lay the foundations of the force and build its national workforce. His contemporaries included Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda, Issa Abdullah Bu Jumaid, Mohammed Ali Abu Frousha, known as “Bin Kalli”, and fellow officers Ali Hassan and Ahmed Mohammed Yousuf.
Sheikh Mohammed also underlined Dubai’s enduring appreciation for those who devote their lives to public service. “Dubai does not forget its men,” he said, offering prayers for the late officer and comfort for his family and loved ones.
“May God have mercy on you, O Father of Mohammed, and inspire patience and solace in your family and loved ones, and verily we belong to God, and to Him we shall return,” he added.
Dubai Police also prayed for God to have mercy on Al Muhairi, forgive him and grant him a place in Paradise. ICA/Expat Media
