Indian expat in Sharjah wins $1 million Dubai Duty Free draw

DUBAI – An Indian expatriate living in Sharjah is now $1 million richer after winning the jackpot in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw on Wednesday (April 7).

George Thomas, who works at the Dubai International Airport, bought his winning ticket on March 14.

The 43-year-old, who hails from Kerala, said he has been buying tickets to the draw in the last six years. Thomas said he plans to send all his winnings to his family in India.

Thomas and his wife are expecting their fourth child, and the Indian said that his win is added luck. He is the 179th Indian to win the jackpot in the millionaire draw. ICA/Expat Media
