Where to get free ride to Expo 2020 Dubai

 

DUBAI – The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced it will deploy 126 public “Expo Rider” buses to give free rides to the Expo 2020 Dubai site when it opens starting October 1.

The buses will be deployed in nine stations across Dubai: Palm Jumeirah, Al Baraha, Al Ghubaiba, Etisalat, Global Village, Dubai Mall, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis Station and Dubai International Airport.

Palm Jumeirah

Service: Six buses, 54 trips per day
Timings: Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Service frequency: 15 minutes

Al Baraha

Service: Seven buses, 62 trips per day
Timings: Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Frequency: 30 minutes

Al Ghubaiba

Service: Twelve buses,74 trips per day
Timings: Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Service frequency: 15 minutes

Etisalat

(adjacent to Etisalat Metro Station on the Green Line)
Service: Eight buses, 70 trips per day
Timings: Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Service frequency: 15 minutes

Global Village

Service: Three buses, 10 trips per day
Timings: Sunday to Thursday
Frequency: 60 minutes

International City

Service: Eight buses, 78 trips per day
Timings: Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Service frequency: 15 minutes

Dubai Silicon Oasis Station

Service: Eight buses, 78 trips per day
Timings: Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Service frequency: 15 minutes

Dubai Mall

Service: Five buses, 55 trips per day
Timings: Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Service frequency: 30 minutes

Dubai International Airport

Service: Eight buses, 52 trips
Timings: Daily
Service frequency: 20 minutes

The RTA would also provide two additional services to Expo visitors. The first is the Expo Parking Shuttle to transport visitors from the car parks to the three Expo Gates: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.

The RTA has allocated 57 buses to run 1,191 trips per day from Saturday to Wednesday and 1,377 trips on Thursday and Friday. The frequency will range from three to seven minutes.

The second service is Expo People Mover to transport visitors from parking area to the Expo Gates, and also between Expo Gates. Fifteen buses will make 310 daily trips from Saturday to Wednesday and 350 trips on Thursday and Friday. The service frequency varies from 3 to 60 minutes.

The RTA had previously announced its plan to transport visitors from different emirates. The plan identifies nine locations in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah. Seventy-seven buses will make 193 trips per day on all days of the week, and the number of trips will rise to 213 per day on Thursday and Friday.
