Funerals in Sharjah: authority issues new rules

DUBAI – The Sharjah Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team (SECDMT) has issued new rules on funerals in Sharjah aimed at implementing precautionary measures against Covid-19.

The team issued the new rules as funerals, attended by more than 100 mourners, were held in homes and memorial tents across the emirate.

According to the SECDMT, only vaccinated individuals can attend funerals or offer condolences.
Their Al Hosn app must show green status.

The authority said that people with chronic diseases, the elderly and those with a health condition must not attend funerals.

“Updating the procedures for attending social events is being continuously evaluated with the data and indicators that guarantee the safety and health of society as a societal and national priority,” according to SECDMT. ICA/Expat Media
