The first Filipino fluvial parade in Dubai will launch on Saturday (June 10) as part of the Philippine Independence Day celebrations, the Filipino Social Club told Expatmedia.net.
The fluvial parade is organized by the Filipino Social Club in partnership with the Community Development Authority, Sunrise Yachts Rental and Filipino Yachtsmen Association.
Filipino Social Club President Ericson Reyes told Expatmedia.net that the fluvial parade will start at 11am from Dubai Harbour. The fluvial parade will head to JBR, passing through Ain Dubai, and on to the Dubai Marina Canal before returning to the Dubai Harbour.
“This will be the first ever fluvial parade in Dubai for Philippine Independence Day, and we chose the routes so that other nationalities can witness our celebration and join the fun,” Reyes said.
On June 18 (Sunday), the Filipino Social Club will be holding day-long festivities at the Dubai World Trade Center to celebrate Philippine Independence Day. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, will grace the event.
The event will feature live talent shows, cultural programs, games and a bazaar. Celebrities Daniel Matsunaga and Daiana Menezes will be flown in from the Philippines to perform for the audience. A total of 19 exemplary Filipinos in the UAE will also be awarded in the Gawad Pinoy 2023 awards. ICA/Expat Media
