DUBAI – Two years after winning his first pageant title at the age of 17, Sharjah resident Brian Rudolph Samson has added another title as possibly the youngest Filipino to launch his own pageant brand.
Samson said he was inspired to start his own online pageant and modeling events business after winning Mr. Teen Bayanihan in 2018 and Man of the Philippines UAE the following year.
Now 19, Samson founded Pageant Universe, where he is also the Managing Director. He has registered the business name with the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry.
He runs Pageant Universe with co-founder and creative director Nicole Angela Atienza, a former promotions and digital content head of a Philippine-based production company he met unexpectedly in one of the pageants he joined.
“I was walking along the aisle when she suddenly approached me to ask for a photo. That was our first time to meet,” Samson recalled.
The power partners are now busy cooking up more online events under Pageant Universe. An online model search is ongoing.
“We want pageant enthusiasts to be productive and efficient amid the pandemic, and find a relevant source to keep them away from negativity and help them unleash their maximum potential,” Samson told Expatmedia.net.
Pageant Universe debuted with its first online pageant in Mr. & Ms. Respects 2020 in June. Renzel Ross Calgo bested 9 male candidates to win the title Mr. Respects 2020 while Jazmine Romero bested 9 candidates to be crowned Ms. Respects 2020.
In an exclusive interview with Expatmedia.net, Samson talks about his latest business venture and how he found his eureka moment during the Covid-19 lockdown.
My partner and I created an online page called Pageant Universe to post content about Philippine pageants. It started getting attention from pageant enthusiasts, which inspired us to turn it into a legitimate business. Nicole registered the business name with DTI.
Pageant Universe promotes pride, purpose and passion. Our mission is to open doors and opportunities in the world of pageantry and create an optimistic community that supports diversity in the industry. It is going to be a prestigious global pageant community.
The pageants I joined in the past gave me wide insights on how a pageant is handled. Pageant Universe stands out as an online pageant and model innovator, combining pageant media and information to set a high standard in the industry.
Our plan is to expand Pageant Universe through national franchises. The future franchise of the national pageant page will create events under our approval that will give opportunities to those who want to be involved in modeling and pageantry. PIA/Expat Media
