Sheikh Mohammed reveals plans for Expo City

Plans for the transformation of the Expo 2020 site into a new Expo City were announced by the Dubai Ruler of Monday (June 20).

Expo City will represent “the most beautiful ambitions of Dubai”, said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

An official statement has revealed that Dubai’s newest “city” will be opened on October 1, 2022.

Sheikh Mohammed said Expo City will feature a new museum, an international exhibition centre, some pavilions as well as offices and headquarters of global companies.

The magic of the Expo 2020 will continue in Expo City, Sheikh Mohammed said. Pavilions of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco will remain, along with Al Wasl Dome, Expo Waterfall, The Emirates and Terra.

“It will be a city that represents the dream of every city,” Sheikh Mohammed added. Expo City will be a “hub of economic activity” with offices and headquarters of global companies. ICA/Expat Media
