Emirates suspends check-in for all passengers transiting through Dubai

Dubai-based Emirates airline issued an advisory on Friday (April 19) saying that it is suspending check-in for all passengers worldwide who have transit or connecting flights through Dubai.

According to Emirates, the suspension will be enforced until 11:59pm on April 19 to “support operations recovery from the recent bad weather at our Dubai hub”.

Transit passengers already in Dubai are exempted will be accepted on their flights. Passengers traveling to Dubai as their final destination may check-in and travel as usual.

The airline said that customers with connecting flights in Dubai will only be accepted at their point of origin if their flight departs after 11:59pm on April 19.

Previously, airport operator Dubai Airports announced it was restricting access to Dubai International Airport only to passengers with confirmed flights. It also limited inbound flights to Dubai until 4am on Friday. The Dubai Media Office said the airport is set to return to full operational capacity within 24 hours. ICA/Expat Media
