DUBAI – Do you have a traffic fine? There’s good news after the Dubai Police announced on Monday (February 24) that discounts of up to 100 percent on traffic fines will be extended this year.
Colonel Jumaa Bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the Traffic Department at Dubai Police, said that the police force decided to continue the initiative, which was launched in February 2019, after it inspired motorists to avoid committing more traffic offence.
Under the initiative, motorists can get a 100 percent discount on traffic fines if they do not commit any traffic offence in 12 months.
A 75 percent discount on traffic fines is given to motorists who have not committed any violation in the nine months following their initial offence, while a 25 percent discount applies to fines by motorists who have not committed any succeeding traffic offence in three months. ICA/Expat Media
