Dubai as a global hub for gaming industry

Dubai is about to become a global hub for the gaming industry as Dubai Chambers aims to increase the role and influence of the gaming industry on the economy with a Dh17 billion market value in 2025.

The growing popularity of mobile gaming and a strong 5G network has increased the gaming audience in UAE.

Market analysts predict the gaming industry to grow from Dh5 billion in 2019 to Dh17 billion in 2025. The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy recently gathered industry experts to discuss its opportunities.

One of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, held workshops on the digital industry to increase support for the industry.

Ahmad Bin Byat, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, stated that the Chamber is working to develop a business environment supportive of the gaming sector.

The Chamber’s role is to support digital industries and help promote a well-organized, well-regulated, and professional work environment for the constantly expanding digital sector, of which gaming is essential.

“Dubai enjoys the market, infrastructure, and investment that qualifies it to become a global leader in gaming, especially given the sector’s overlaps with emerging Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including AR, VR, and blockchain,” Byat said.

Leading gaming industry figures gathered for this sector-specific session to discuss the industry’s opportunities and challenges.
