Police in Dubai have seized 19 cars and 5 motorcycles used in reckless driving during recent rainy conditions in the emirate.

“These were seized from motorists who defied traffic rules during the rainy weather, despite previous warnings,” said Major General Saif Al Mazroui, director of Dubai Police’s traffic department.

Police said that the drivers were flagged in separate incidents in the Al Rowaiyah area. Police issued a total of 35 penalties on the traffic violators.

Police also said that the drivers were fined and have been referred to traffic prosecutors for legal action. In Dubai, drivers will have to pay Dh50,000 to release their confiscated vehicles. ICA/Expat Media
